So I no longer have Internet at my flat anymore, which will make updating VFM even that much more difficult from now on. Difficult, but hopefully not less frequent. For today embarks a new path in my cartooning ventures. Today’s update is my first ever digital comic. Pretty cool, huh? I’m really pleased with the way it’s turned out, and even more pleased with how little time and energy it required of me. I’m still a big believer in real brushes using real ink on real paper, but as I have a lot of catching up to do in terms of buffer, I think digital is the way forward. For now.
As for today’s strip, I’ve been feeling lately like I haven’t been telling very good jokes, and increasingly have been feeling that I’m not much of a joke teller. As much as I appreciate the power of humour, I’m not a very good comedian. I would much rather tell stories than fish for punchlines, so I think that will be the direction in which I take VFM in the near future. That’s not to say I’m going to give VFM a ’90s-style gritty reboot a la Rob Liefeld (although I can definitely find the humour in that), but I’m changing the format (again). Expect a new storyline with fun new characters very soon!
